Not So Plain White Tees

TAGS: t-shirts, accessory, summer fashion tips, Zara, J.Crew, Banana Republic, Talbots

Want to take that basic white tee to the next level?

We’ve created four different looks that rock the Snoop Perfect Cap Sleeve Scoopneck tee from Velvet ($55, Three Sisters).

Scarf and go
Nothing says “I’m so polished” as much as a stunning silk scarf. The basic square can be tied any number of ways, but you can see that even an off-center knot will do the trick in style. (Tropical floral scarf, $54, Talbots, talbots.com)

What tee?
Your tee will become background music to this show-stopping, vintage inspired necklace and sleeveless vest. (Hercules pendant necklace, $35 and linen two-pocket open vest, $69.50, both Banana Republic, bananarepublic.com)

Buttoned up
Don’t forget the power of a lightweight cardigan. While we chose this navy tie dye number, there’s a cardigan in every color of the rainbow to fit your mood. Finish off any great cashmere, cotton, or linen sweater with a skinny belt. This white leather grommet belt steals the show. (Grommet skinny belt, $35 and silk linen bamebridge cardigan, $88, both J.Crew, jcrew.com)

Work it!
If you need your white little tee to take you from the grocery store to a board meeting, throw on a well-fitting little jacket. Then, grab your favorite statement making handbag and strut your stuff out the door. (Blazer, $79.90, Zara, zara.com; handbag, stylist’s own.)
